I became interested in the GSD when my aunt & uncle started
to breed them and show them. I just fell in love with this beautiful breed; I just love everything about them.
However even though I would play with the puppies and older dogs when I was younger I wasn't
really ADDICTED as I am now with them. I started helping my uncle and aunt train there dogs at ring craft classes when I was
about 11 year sold, and I have been hooked ever since.
Sadly I have not had much experience in the show ring, as most of the dogs that my uncle and
aunt have don't seem to enjoy it very much, so we do not force them.
I think I have only been in the ring about 8 times max.
Every time I even think about what I am going to do in the ring I get very nervous.
I have shown Keira (sable bitch) 2 times and she came 1st in both, which I was very pleased about.
Keira works very well with me, however she retired young as in those days I was quite younger and very inexperienced, so it
wasn't me who showed Keira in the other few classes she was in, and she did not like this.
Sometimes I still work Keira just for the fun of it up and down the country roads and she loves it, she just loves to please
me, I wish I could show her now, but I think there would be now point as Keira is not as fit as she should be.
The first and last time I showed Roxie she decided she was having non of it, so when we were
going round the ring individually she decided she would lye down in the middle of the ring and not move, even with me pleading
her to go round and at least move.
Mysteriously Roxie came last in that show.
It was extremely embarrassing for me as everyone was laughing : /
However it did not put me off. : D
